Meet Dave Butler

David William Butler was raised in the city of Mississauga, Ontario. He attended St. Martin’s Secondary School. Early in his childhood, Dave took up many sports, ultimately sticking with Soccer and Hockey. Dave competed at the Provincial Level in Soccer but Hockey was always his favorite and it won out over Soccer when High School Studies made playing two sports at a very competitive level an impossible feat. During High School Dave played for his High School’s Hockey Team as well as the Don Mills Flyers G.T.H.L. “AAA” Team. Before his Junior B year when he was 17 years old, Dave suffered an unfortunate knee injury in a game and was told his competitive hockey career was over.

Dave comes from a family of Financial Service Providers: His Father and brother are also Mortgage Broker’s and his Mother owned an Insurance Brokerage in the early 1990’s before selling it and taking on new business ventures.

After completing his High School Studies, Dave attended the University of Toronto, St. George Campus in Toronto. During his first year there, he battled it out with 1500 other aspiring first year business students for 150 spots into the University’s prestigious Bachelor of Commerce program. Dave finished in the Top 3% of the 1500 applicants, securing his spot in the program.

In his last year of the University, Dave’s Father needed someone to help him manage his Mortgage Company where major expansion was taking place. Dave's main responsibility was to oversee the Second Mortgage Department at his Father’s company and by the end of his first year there, his Father’s company had taken over as the #1 ranked at their brokerage. Ever ambitious as he is and having received a full apprenticeship in the Mortgage Business from his Father, Dave decided to take his knowledge and experience with him and join the #1 Mortgage Brokerage in Canada, Mortgage Intelligence -- and he has never looked back.

Dave’s commitment to his clients and work ethic are unparalleled. His unique and innovative approach to the mortgage business includes assembling a professional team second to none. This allows Dave the opportunity to continually grow his business while ensuring his clients receive the highest level of service. As a direct result of his efforts, Dave was nominated for, and won, the "2004 Rookie Of The Year Award" for being the #1 Rookie Mortgage Consultant in Canada that year. Dave's Team has made a steady climb up the ranks since then and in 2007 they were one of the Top 20 Teams in Canada for Mortgage Intelligence Inc.

In 2008 Dave was named one of the Top 50 Mortgage Brokers in Canada by CMP Magazine.   

In 2009 Dave was nominated for the 'Canadian Mortgage Broker of the Year' and was again named as one of CMP Magazine's Top 50 Mortgage Brokers in Canada
